SELF-SIMILARITY AT DIFFERENT SCALE LEVELS IN IRRADIATED SOLID MATERIALS

Selforganized structures after ionbeam irradiation in solid materials have been studied using the method of fractal dimension. General computer method of the scale invariance evaluation for exposed dispersive structures is described. It was demonstrated that structures after irradiation can be characterized by the compatibility of scale invariance properties at different scale levels.

SELFORGANIZATION, PATTERN FORMATION, OPEN SYSTEM PHYSICS

Paper presents the lecture which was conducted for pupils on workshop «Nonlinear Days in Saratov for Youth – 2011». In the lecture brief introduction in physics of open systems is presented and several examples of process of selforganization and pattern formation in the systems of different nature are discussed.

SERGEY P. KURDYUMOV AND HIS EVOLUTIONARY MODEL OF DYNAMICS OF COMPLEX SYSTEMS

Sergei P. Kurdyumov (1928–2004) and his distinguished contribution in the development of the modern interdisciplinary theory and methodology of study of complex self-organizing systems, i.e. synergetics, is under consideration in the article. The matter of a mathematical model of evolutionary dynamics of complex systems elaborated by him is demonstrated. The nonlinear equation of heat conductivity serves as a basis of the model.

CURRENT VIEWS OF EVOLUTION: ON THE ROLE OF HORIZONTAL GENE TRANSFER

This article is an extended summary of a lecture given to undergraduate and postgraduate students of Saratov State University’s Faculty of Nonlinear Processes at the School-cum-Conference «Nonlinear Days for the Young in Saratov – 2012».

ON THE ROLE OF «PATTERN» AND «SYMBOL» CONCEPTS FOR SIMULATION OF THE THINKING PROCESS VIA NEUROCOMPUTING

The concepts of «pattern» and «symbol» and their functions are discussed in the context of «thinking» system of combined neuroprocessors. It is shown that the pattern subsystem does play a key role in recording and store of information. The symbol subsystem initiation provides the transition to conventional semantic information and communications with environment. The paradigm of attention within the scheme presented is secured by a parametric effect of symbol subsystem on the image one.
